Outlaw Rogue rotation guide & helper

Play Outlaw Rogue like a skilled player: the current priority, cooldowns that line up, AoE when it pays and kicks on the casts that matter.

Updated for patch 12.1.5 · World of Warcraft: Midnight · Windows
Guide

How Outlaw plays.

Outlaw builds combo points with Sinister Strike, Pistol Shot and Ambush, and spends them with Between the Eyes and Dispatch just short of your maximum. Roll the Bones gives you one stage from 1 to 4, and the helper re-rolls the weak ones. Adrenaline Rush goes out whenever it isn't running.

One target

  1. Adrenaline Rush whenever it isn't up.
  2. Roll the Bones when you have no roll, or to re-roll a stage 1 with Keep It Rolling. Keep It Rolling at stage 3 or higher.
  3. Finishers once you're one combo point short of your maximum: Between the Eyes first, then Killing Spree, Coup de Grace and Dispatch.
  4. Ambush while Audacity is up.
  5. Pistol Shot when Opportunity procs.
  6. Sinister Strike as the filler.

Packs

  • Blade Flurry is kept up from 2 targets.
  • With Deft Maneuvers, Blade Flurry is also a builder from 3 targets.
  • Blade Rush goes out from 3 targets (or with Menacing Rush while Adrenaline Rush is down).

Cooldowns

  • Vanish and Shadowmeld go out for an extra Ambush when you have the talent for it, nothing to spend yet, and no Audacity or Opportunity.
  • Preparation when Adrenaline Rush has more than 30 seconds left on its cooldown and Between the Eyes and Killing Spree aren't ready.
  • Your racial goes out with the cooldowns.

Good to know

  • The helper opens from Stealth (the "Open from Stealth" setting; off = you open yourself).
  • Poisons go on out of combat; you pick which ones in Rotation > Switches > Poisons.
  • Fatebound and Trickster both work: the helper follows your talents.
  • With Fan the Hammer, Pistol Shot goes out before Opportunity runs out (under 2 seconds left, changeable) or at full stacks.
What it does for you

Built for Outlaw.

01

Cooldowns that line up

Your Outlaw cooldowns go when the priority says so, not when a timer runs out.

02

AoE when it pays

Area spells only once enough enemies are around you. You pick the number.

03

Kicks and stuns

Interrupts on the casts that matter, at the last safe moment, and no stuns on mobs that can't be stunned.

04

Immunity learning

It learns which mobs shrug off your spells and stops casting them there.

05

You stay in control

Every spell, threshold and line of the priority is yours to change. One switch turns it off.

In the rotation

Outlaw spells it uses.

Lines for spells you don't have are skipped, so it follows your talents.
