Holy Priest healing guide & helper

Heal as Holy Priest with a helper that picks the right target: it watches your whole group, keeps dispels going and fills quiet moments with damage.

Updated for patch 12.1.5 · World of Warcraft: Midnight · Windows
Guide

How Holy plays.

Holy follows the guides' order: Prayer of Mending on cooldown, Holy Word: Serenity before it caps on charges, Holy Word: Sanctify and Prayer of Healing for group damage, and Flash Heal as the filler that also shortens Serenity's cooldown. Guardian Spirit, Divine Hymn and Apotheosis are for emergencies. When nobody needs healing, you deal damage.

Who gets healed

  • Someone "dying" comes first: at 35% or lower, or someone who would die within 2.5 seconds at the rate they lose health (both changeable).
  • At 20% or lower your own defensive goes out before any heal.
  • The person under your mouse gets Serenity, Prayer of Mending and Flash Heal first - unless someone else is below 30%, then they come first.
  • Otherwise the most hurt person in the group. Prayer of Mending goes on the tank first.
  • People with a "heal to full" debuff get Serenity and Flash Heal until they're topped up.
  • Purify cleans dispels, but waits while someone is dying (unless the person is crowd controlled).

Healing spells

  1. Guardian Spirit on someone at 30% or lower who has no defensive up.
  2. Purify on dispels (a switch).
  3. Divine Hymn when 4 or more people are below 50%, Apotheosis when 3 or more are below 70%.
  4. Halo when 3 or more are below 85%, and 1.5 seconds before a big hit on the whole group. Holy Word: Sanctify when 3 or more are below 85%.
  5. Holy Word: Serenity on someone below 55%, Power Word: Shield below 50%.
  6. Prayer of Mending in combat, on the tank first.
  7. Serenity at 2 charges, Prayer of Healing when 3 or more are below 80%, then Flash Heal - with Surge of Light, below 75%, or below 85% while you have 60% mana or more.

When it's quiet

  • Holy Fire, then Holy Word: Chastise.
  • Shadow Word: Death below 20%.
  • Holy Nova on 4 or more enemies (changeable).
  • Shadow Word: Pain kept up, Smite as the filler.

Good to know

  • The guides give no health numbers, so every number here is a starting value you can change on the Tuning page.
  • Heal and Renew aren't buttons in Midnight any more (Renew only comes from procs), so they aren't in the rotation.
  • Out of combat, Flash Heal tops up anyone below 90%.
What it does for you

Built for Holy.

01

Heal the right target

The healing engine watches your whole group and raid and picks who needs it now. The one about to die comes first.

02

Dispels

Harmful effects come off your group as they land, when you switch Dispels on.

03

Damage when it's quiet

When nobody needs healing, your Holy damage spells keep going.

04

Kicks and stuns

Interrupts on the casts that matter, at the last safe moment, and no stuns on mobs that can't be stunned.

05

Immunity learning

It learns which mobs shrug off your spells and stops casting them there.

06

You stay in control

Every spell, threshold and line of the priority is yours to change. One switch turns it off.

  • Halo this many seconds before a big hit on the whole group (0 = off)
  • Guardian Spirit: someone's health at most 30%
  • Divine Hymn: people count as hurt below 50%
  • Divine Hymn: needs at least 4 hurt people (under that health)
  • Apotheosis: people count as hurt below 70%
