Discipline Priest healing guide & helper

Heal as Discipline Priest with a helper that picks the right target: it watches your whole group, keeps dispels going and fills quiet moments with damage.

Updated for patch 12.1.5 · World of Warcraft: Midnight · Windows
Guide

How Discipline plays.

Discipline heals through Atonement. Power Word: Shield, Power Word: Radiance and Flash Heal put Atonement on people, then every bit of damage you deal heals everyone who has it. So the helper heals directly only when someone is really low, keeps Atonement on the group and dispels - the rest of the time it deals damage, even while people are a bit hurt.

Who gets healed

  • Someone "dying" comes first: at 35% or lower, or someone who would die within 2.5 seconds at the rate they lose health (both changeable).
  • At 20% or lower your own defensive goes out before any heal.
  • The person under your mouse gets a Shield for Atonement and a Flash Heal below 70% - unless someone else is below 30%, then they come first.
  • Otherwise the most hurt person in the group. The tank keeps a Power Word: Shield in combat.
  • People with a "heal to full" debuff get Flash Heal until they're at 95%.
  • Purify cleans dispels, but waits while someone is dying (unless the person is crowd controlled).

Healing spells

  1. Pain Suppression on someone at 30% or lower who has no defensive up.
  2. Purify on dispels (a switch).
  3. Penance on someone below 40%, Power Word: Shield below 50%, Flash Heal below 45%.
  4. Before a big hit on the whole group: Evangelism 8 seconds ahead, Power Word: Radiance 6 seconds ahead.
  5. Power Word: Barrier when 4 or more people are below 60%. Evangelism when 3 or more are below 80% and at least 3 have Atonement; Power Word: Radiance when 3 or more are below 90% and fewer than 3 have it.
  6. Void Shield whenever Mind Blast gave you one (a switch).
  7. Shield and Flash Heal on hurt people without Atonement, while fewer than 5 have it.

When it's quiet

  • Shadow Word: Pain kept up on your target.
  • Ultimate Penitence when 3 or more people are below 70% and at least 3 have Atonement.
  • Mind Blast, Penance, Shadow Word: Death below 20%, Void Blast, Smite as the filler.

Good to know

  • The guides give no health numbers, so every number here is a starting value you can change on the Tuning page.
  • Power Word: Barrier lands at your feet.
  • Out of combat, Flash Heal tops up anyone below 90%.
What it does for you

Built for Discipline.

01

Heal the right target

The healing engine watches your whole group and raid and picks who needs it now. The one about to die comes first.

02

Dispels

Harmful effects come off your group as they land, when you switch Dispels on.

03

Damage when it's quiet

When nobody needs healing, your Discipline damage spells keep going.

04

Kicks and stuns

Interrupts on the casts that matter, at the last safe moment, and no stuns on mobs that can't be stunned.

05

Immunity learning

It learns which mobs shrug off your spells and stops casting them there.

06

You stay in control

Every spell, threshold and line of the priority is yours to change. One switch turns it off.
