Retribution Paladin rotation guide & helper

Play Retribution Paladin like a skilled player: the current priority, cooldowns that line up, AoE when it pays and kicks on the casts that matter.

Guide

How Retribution plays.

Keep a Seal up all the time and Judgement on cooldown - in Forever Judgement doesn't use up your Seal. Holy Strike (level 6) goes out whenever you have the mana. Seal of Command (talent, level 20) is your Seal once you have it, Seal of Righteousness before. Mana is your second health bar: you heal yourself when low.

One target

  1. Flash of Light on yourself below 35% health (with 15% mana), standing still.
  2. Seal of the Crusader judged first on mobs that live 20+ seconds.
  3. Seal of Command kept up (Righteousness before you have it).
  4. Divine Favor right before Holy Shock.
  5. Judgement at 20%+ mana, or when the mob dies within 6 seconds.
  6. Hammer of Wrath below 20% health.
  7. Holy Strike at 10%+ mana, Exorcism on Undead / Demons, Holy Shock at 50%+ mana.

Seals

  • With Unsealed Wrath the helper swaps to Seal of Righteousness at 3 Echo of Command stacks, and back to Command once they fired.
  • Holy Shock build (the "Seal of Righteousness instead of Command" switch, or the Consecrated Ground talent): Righteousness stays, Holy Shock moves up, and with Consecrated Ground Consecration is kept up in melee.
  • In raids the opener judges Seal of the Crusader. You can set Seal of Wisdom or Light to match your raid's assignment, or none.

Packs

  • Consecration on 3+ mobs at 35%+ mana, on 2 mobs at 70%+, on a single mob only at 80%+.
  • Holy Wrath on 2+ Undead / Demon mobs at 30%+ mana, standing still.

Good to know

  • Blessing of Might is kept up by the helper (Kings / Wisdom only if you don't have Might); your Aura stays on by itself.
  • Lay on Hands and Divine Protection come from the Defensives switch.
What it does for you

Built for Retribution.

01

Cooldowns that line up

Your Retribution cooldowns go when the priority says so, not when a timer runs out.

02

AoE when it pays

Area spells only once enough enemies are around you. You pick the number.

03

Kicks and stuns

Interrupts on the casts that matter, and no wasted casts on mobs that are immune.

04

The right spell rank

Highest, smart or a fixed rank for every spell, so you never waste mana.

05

Immunity learning

It learns which mobs shrug off your spells and stops casting them there.

06

You stay in control

Every spell, threshold and line of the priority is yours to change. One switch turns it off.

In the rotation

Retribution spells it uses.

Lines for spells you don't have are skipped, so it follows your talents.
